Developed with the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation, this trek will help you discover many aspects of the reserve's ecosystem and will particularly appeal to ecologists and nature lovers.

This experience will allow you to have a more in-depth look at the Mauritian biodiversity, and also to learn how this delicate ecosystem works and how to preserve it. You'll also stop at Frédérica waterfall and cascade L'exemple.

All through the woodland, you'll encounter endangered plants such as the Bois Chandelle and the Bois de Natte, and also an assortment of wild orchids and vegetation. Walking through you may see a White-tailed Tropicbird, an Echo Parakeet, or a little Mauritian fruit bat, called "Roussette", also an extensive variety of other endemic species.

Leider mussten wir lange warten bis die Tour losging ( entweder Tui holt viel zu früh ab, oder die anderen Teilnehmer kamen zu spät) und das Wetter war auch nicht gut (starker Wind, immer wieder leichter Regen). Aber es war sehr interessant (Pflanzen und Geschichte) und der Guide war sympathisch und konnte viel erklären. Leider kein Baden beim Wasserfall, und wir konnten nur Hirsche kurz sehen und von der weite Fledermäuse. Hätten schon gehofft mehr Tiere zu sehen

Super war, dass der Guide ein erfahrener Wanderer war, der alles über die Natur und die Tiere wusste. Die Führung war auf Englisch, was für uns aber kein Problem war. Es war toll, mal richtig in den Dschungel, der in Mauritius extrem ungefährlich ist, einzutauchen. Nebenbei konnte man noch wilde Tiere und Wasserfälle bewundern und exotische Früchte von Bäumen naschen. Alles in allem toll! Die Wanderwege sind relativ eben und wenig steil. Wanderoutfit ist aufgrund der Umstände trotzdem notwendig!

Die Abholung vom Hotel war pünktlich und der Fahrer sehr nett. Am Ausgangspunkt wurden wir freundlich empfangen, alles war sauber und es hätte sogar Umkleidekabinen gegeben. Unser Führer Fredik war sehr nett wusste viel zu erzählen und hatte ein angenehmes Wandertempo. Wir bekamen von ihm auch zusätzlich Wasserflaschen. Beim Wasserfall hätte man auch baden können, doch das war uns zu umständlich und der Untergrun zu unsicher. Mit unserem Fahrer besuchten wir noch eine Vanilleprodukion.

This could have been a great trip but unfortunately the weather was against us. It rained heavily the day before so the water was murky and full of mud so we were advised not to swim in the waterfalls and so we gave it a miss. It was a shame as this was something we wanted to do. It was still an interesting trip and the staff at the park were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The day of the trip was changed short notice which was irritating and we were the only english speakers there.
